Terms of service

Who Vidya is for

Learners aged 8–16. A parent or legal guardian creates the account, agrees to these terms, and supervises billing. For learners under 13, parental consent is captured at sign-up per our Privacy policy.

What you can expect from us

• The curriculum — 16 principal sutras + 13 sub-sutras from Bhāratī Kṛṣṇa Tīrthajī's 1965 system, sequenced into 6 age-appropriate levels.
• The Charter-bound Coach — gives hints in three steps (nudge → method → step-path) and never reveals the final answer. Code enforces this; it's not just a prompt.
• Honest progress — your weekly parent insight shows real practice minutes, real accuracy, and real school-math transfer signal. If your child didn't practice, the report says so.
• The 60-day measurable-improvement guarantee — on Cohort and 1:1 plans, if your child's Arithmetic Fluency Index hasn't improved by 30% within 60 days of consistent practice (defined as 5+ sessions per week of 10+ minutes each), we refund in full. Self-paced Practice plan has a 14-day no-questions-asked refund window.
• Founders price lock — first 150 paying families: $9 / $39 / $199 monthly for life. Students 151–500: Early-Adopter price ($14 / $69 / $299) locked for 12 months. We don't do silent price increases on existing families. Ever.

What we are not

• Vidya is not a registered school, university, or accredited educational institution. We don't issue degrees or government-recognised qualifications.
• The Coach is not a substitute for a human teacher's judgment. When the Coach surfaces a human-escalation signal in the weekly report, that's the part to act on.
• We are not an investment advisor, lawyer, doctor, therapist, or any other regulated professional.

What we ask of you

• Use Vidya for your own family. Don't share your account or resell access.
• Don't try to extract our lesson content for redistribution (you may, of course, write up what your child has learned).
• Don't reverse-engineer the Coach to remove the answer discipline. We will detect it and your account will be suspended.
• Treat the Coach and our team with respect. We're parents too.

Subscription, billing, cancellation

• Subscriptions are billed monthly (or annually, where offered) via Stripe in advance.
• You can cancel any time from the dashboard or by emailing billing@cosmos369.ai. Cancellation stops the next charge; you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
• The Vidya Cohort plan has a 3-month minimum because the cohort is small (max 12 students) and seat-managed.
• Refunds: see the guarantee above. Outside those windows we consider refund requests case-by-case via billing@cosmos369.ai.

Intellectual property

The Vidya curriculum, lesson scripts, Coach prompts, software, and brand belong to Cosmos369 / GalaxyZen AI. The underlying mathematics (Tirthaji's sutras) is part of the common mathematical heritage and is credited as such.

The work your child produces (their answers, their notes, their session transcripts) belongs to your family.

Service availability

We aim for 99.5% uptime on a calendar-month basis but make no guarantee. If a degraded state prevents the Coach from replying in full, you'll see an honest "degraded mode" notice in the chat surface and we'll log the incident.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited (e.g. for our gross negligence or intentional misconduct).

Changes to these terms

If we change anything material, you'll see a notice at next sign-in and we'll email parents on file. Continued use after the notice means you accept the changes; if you don't, cancel and request refund of any unused paid period.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes go first to a real conversation by email, then to mediation, then to the courts of Ontario. Nothing here restricts your statutory consumer rights.
